@dhide14 When DirecTV adds AMC HD and at least 14 more missing “basics” (like BBC America HD, Turner Classic Movies HD, and even “stupid channels like” Style Network HD) — which are required in subscription before “highest quality channels (e.g HBO & Cinemax into HD)” and carried by competition like Dish Network — you can better exaggerate that “Directv dominates in all categories.” Before that occurs, do some research for yourself with finding out what the word “dominates” means. (Good luck!)

@netman88 I have DirecTV; not Dish Network. It sounds like you’re referring to over-the-air subchannels. DirecTV doesn’t have them, from my area, but I do have a relative who gets one of her PBS affiliate’s subchannel (say, 12-1 is her primary PBS over-the-air channel number; 12-2 is a subchannel that DirecTV is carrying). That is dealing with another issue some people don’t recognize. (Just to clarify, even if unnecessary, is this: I am not discussing a Dish Network-vs.-DirecTV argument.)

@dhide14 You wrote, “Dish Network sucks ass. Directv dominates in all categories.” So, I needed to correct you in letting you know that, by no stretch of anyone’s imagination, is DirecTV dominant “in all categories.” You attacking me with a desperate defense is unworthy. Perhaps you’re a fanatic.

@CoolBlue71 u must be one of those cheap asses that demands everything in HD while paying for the smallest package. I pay for every channel DirecTV offers. Almost every one one of my PREMIUM channels is in HD (much higher quality HD than DISH btw)..and just because DirecTV is focusing on converting their highest quality channels (e.g HBO & Cinemax into HD) before stupid channels like “Style TV” doesn’t make DISH better. DTVwill eventually have all HD, but they take care of their VIP’s first!

@CoolBlue71

My gripe with Dish is that their HD doesn’t really carry all the digital related to those channel. Like if there’s a 9-1 but they don’t have 9-2, 9-3, 9-4

@dhide14 I’m a DirecTV subscriber. DirecTV does not carry AMC HD, BBC America HD, Cooking Channel HD, DIY Network HD, E! Entertainment Television HD, Headline News HD, History International HD, Lifetime Movie Network HD, Style Network HD, TruTV HD, Turner Classic Movies HD. GSN HD, more than 50% ownership by DirecTV, is not available on DirecTV. What do they have in common? Each is carried by Dish Network. One can find most, or all, in a cable company’s lineup. So much for DirecTV’s domination!

@dhide14

I think it depends on your area. Having it for a while it is still not bad in my area but more digital channels would have been better.

The set top box crashed also before and I had to reboot it.

I don’t sell their stuff and also a customer only.

Works great but if you get international channels, you will need a different one.

Yeap. When HD finally became affordable the world of TV changed forever. :)
